Rain rinses panels a little but does not scrub them. Spring pollen forms a sticky film that rain smears rather than removes. Arrays near trees collect sap, droppings, and leaf debris.

The worst grime collects along the bottom edge of each panel, where water pools and evaporates. Because of how panels are wired, shading that small strip can drag down the output of the whole panel.

We check the array first and note your production readout where we can, so you can compare after. We clean during cooler parts of the day, since cold water on hot glass risks thermal stress.

Then we rinse with purified, deionized water through water-fed poles with soft brush heads. The brush loosens the film, and the pure water dries spot-free because there are no minerals to leave behind. No soap, no chemicals, no residue.

We never use high pressure on panels. Seals and coatings are not built for it, and most warranties warn against it.

Industry studies put soiling losses anywhere from a few percent to well over ten percent on heavily fouled arrays. Unlike most home maintenance, panel cleaning pays you back directly in generation.

Droppings left baking on glass can also create hot spots on the cells beneath. Clean panels run cooler and more evenly, which is what the hardware was built for.
