The Best Time of Year to Pressure Wash Your House in NWA

The honest answer: almost any frost-free day works. Detergents and rinse water do not care what month it is, only that temperatures stay above freezing while we work and the surfaces dry.

That said, some timing is smarter than others here, mostly because of pollen, leaves, and how our humid climate grows algae.

Spring: Wash After the Pollen

Oaks and maples dump pollen through April into May. Wash in early April and your clean siding wears a pollen coat within a week.

Wait until pollen season winds down and you get a bonus: algae treatments last longer, because less organic material lands on the surface to feed new growth. Late spring is the sweet spot.

Summer: The Underrated Window

Days are long, surfaces dry fast, and scheduling is easier than the spring rush. The humidity that makes Arkansas summers sticky also feeds algae on shaded siding, so a mid-summer wash knocks growth back right when it grows fastest.

If green film shows up on your shaded lot by July, do not wait for fall. The longer growth sits, the deeper it digs in, and a light summer wash beats scrubbing off two years of buildup later.

Fall: Clean Before the Holidays

Fall is our second peak for one reason: company is coming. A wash in October or early November means the house looks right for Thanksgiving photos, and the Christmas lights go up on clean gutters and fascia.

One caveat: leaf drop runs late here. Washing the house in October and cleaning gutters after the trees finish in late November is a perfectly good split.

Winter: More Possible Than You Think

Our winters are mild more days than not. Plenty of 45- and 50-degree days show up December through February, and every one is a fine washing day. The only blockers are freezing temperatures and frozen surfaces.

Winter is also the easiest time to get on the schedule. Listing a home in January or February? Waiting for spring costs real money in curb appeal.

So When Should You Book?

Best value: late spring after pollen season, when a wash plus algae treatment lasts longest. Cleaning up for the holidays: book fall early, those slots go fast. And if the house just looks dirty right now, in any frost-free month, now is the right time.
